Who We Are

BK Backoffice dates back to 2014. Shortly after Carron Nicks, a 30+ year consumer bankruptcy lawyer, began freelancing, an attorney with a brand new solo law firm asked her to help him draft schedules. He told a friend with a small firm, who became the second paperwork client. Soon client No. 3 joined the party.

Then, everything came to a screeching halt with the pandemic lockdowns and precipitous drop in bankruptcy filings.

But, Carron had proved that compartmentalizing and outsourcing the schedule-drafting process was a viable business model. This is not the first time this model has been employed. In fact, attorneys have used document prep and form builder services for decades.

When the pandemic subsided, and bankruptcy filings began to show a little upward movement, it was time to formalize the process, organization, and marketing. Thus sprang BK Backoffice.

Carron knows bankruptcy schedules backwards and forwards, estimating that she has filed at least 500 consumer cases. Besides, she’s been a bank paralegal, a bankruptcy court deputy clerk, a bankruptcy paralegal for a boutique Chapter 11 law firm, a bankruptcy court law clerk, and a federal appellate court law clerk. She’s practiced consumer and commercial bankruptcy law for 30+ years as a solo, an associate, a partner, and of counsel.
